SWi2025TI Integral Hydraulic Flange Spreader

The SWi2025TI Flange spreader contains an integral hydraulic pump capable of producing up to 25 tons of spreading force along with a spreading distance of up to 4.1 inches when both step blocks are utilized.

This video is for the SW14.5TI Flange Spreader. The video is not yet available for the SWi2025TI, but the operations are fundamentaly the same.

Improved Tool Capabilities

Like the SW series of Flange Spreaders the SWi2025 requires a minimum access gap of 0.24 inches. However,with the new SWi2025TI flange spreader the spreading force has been increased to 20 tons on the first step and 25 tons on the remaining steps. Used on pipe flange work from construction to maintenance to turnarounds and outages.

No longer do you need to carry pumps, hoses, and gauges, etc... The SWi2025TI integral hydraulic flange spreader is an excellent tool to use when working off the ground or subsea to get the job done quickly and safely.

Enhanced User Features

A smaller footprint and less weight improves the portability of this tool and a narrower jaw improves it's access to pipe flanges. Ergonomically designed to improve worker safety and comfort.

Improved Safety Features

Safety is always important. In addition to a fail-safe design the SWi2025TI flange spreader now includes a lanyard, increased step depth on the upper steps, forged components, and no finger pinch points.

Improved maintenance features

The SWi2025TI flange spreader is now easier and less costly to maintain. Features include replacing only the wedge tip, narrower jaw teeth and quick jaw or tip replacement.

Equalizer SW and SWi series flange spreaders feature an integrated spreading wedge design that produce a force perpendicular to the flanges faces being separated. This design promotes safety by eliminates spreading wedges from being propelled from the flange being separated, as well as damage to the flange face itself and spreading wedge failure. (See ill. below)

This drawing illustrates how forces are applied with a standard wedge. The downward force from the wedge is transmitted in a angular motion to the flange faces. This produces a reverse force that try to propel the wedge back out of the flange. This type of wedge will also cause damage to flange face.

EXTREME CAUTION SHOUD BE EXERCISED WITH THIS PROCEDURE.

The SWi2025TI flange spreader is small, powerful, safe, and easy to use.

Using the Equalizer SWi2025TI Integral Hydraulic Flange Spreader the maximum spreading capacity is 4.07" with both stepped blocks attached.

SWi2025TI spreading wedge capacities without the step blocks and with the step blocks attached

A problem may occur when using a SWi series Flange Spreader on a flange with a large gap. For example when removing a blind. The wedge may protrude far enough to hit the blind or gasket as illustrated below.
